Create a livestream

You can livestream events, performances and gatherings on Soctrip from a profile, Fanpage or Group. Viewers can watch on a mobile or computer.

Computer Mobile apps
  1. On your profile or Fanpage, Group, click p-live.png Live
  2. At the step of Connecting video, select the appropriate camera, then click Continue
  3. At the step of Connecting audio, select the appropriate microphone (you can say something to test the microphone), then click Continue
  4. At the step of Setting up livestream, adjust camera parameters, including Video quality and FPS, then click Continue
  5. At the step of Completing post details, proceed to:
    • Enter Title
    • Enter description
    • Select where to post the live video
    • Select audience
    • Upload an illustration for the live video
  6. Click Go live to switch to the livestream interface
  7. When you are ready, click Start livestream

Manage a livestreaming video

While the live video is ongoing, you can:

  • Adjust microphone and webcam source settings
  • View statistics of total views, reactions, and comments received
  • View comments sent by viewers in real-time during the livestream
  • Track the number of viewers who are watching the livestream
  • Temporarily mute/unmute the microphone
  • Turn the webcam on or off (applicable on desktop platforms)
  • Switch between front and rear cameras (applicable on mobile devices)
  • Click End livestream to finish the live video
How do I watch a Livestream on Soctrip?

You can watch your friends' livestreams on both computer and mobile apps.

Keep in mind that when you view someone's livestream, they'll be able to tell that you've seen it.

Computer Mobile apps
  1. In the Quick Access menu on the left column of the Soctrip homepage, click Livestreams
  2. Select the For you tab to view a list of livestreams on the Soctrip community
    Select the Shopping tab to view a list of livestreams from sellers on Soctrip
  3. Click a livestream to start watching live.
Interact with a livestream

While watching someone's livestream, you can interact by the following ways:

Computer Mobile apps
  • Send a comment: Click the Add a comment box in the lower right corner of the screen, enter your comment, you can add emojis by clicking camxuc.png and selecting the appropriate emoji, then click gui.png or press the enter key to send
  • Send a reaction: Select one of the most popular emotions that appear as icons (for example: tuongtac2.png) in the bottom corner of the screen
  • Mute/unmute sound: You can mute the sound to view only the image/video content by clicking live on.png to mute, or clicking live out.png to unmute the sound.
  • Suggestions: Click the Suggestions section to view a list of other ongoing livestreams recommended by the system
  • Report the livestream:
      • If you think a post is annoying you or does not comply with our Community Standards, click live baocao.png in the top right corner of the live video screen, select the report label, or enter another reason for reporting.
      • Then click Confirm to submit the report. That live video will immediately be hidden from your platform, and a notification will be sent to Soctrip moderators to consider if it should appear on others' platforms, depending on the severity of the community standards violation.
  • Share the livestream:
    Click the share icon 3cham - Copy.png, select where you want to share this live video. Depending on the privacy settings of the live video, you may see the following options:
      • Share to feed: The live video will be shared to your News feed and timeline. You can customize the post (for example: add a description, an emoji, a feeling), and you also might adjust the audience (such as Public/Private/Friends) for this share before you share it.
        Click the Post button to share the live video.
      • Share to group: Select a group you’ve joined where you want to share the live video. You can customize the post (for example: add a description, an emoji, a feeling) before you share it. Note that the audience for the shared live video will default to the group's settings (such as Public/Private/Friends).
        Click the Post button to share the live video.
      • Copy link: Click Copy link to get the link to the live video. You can use the copied link to paste and share it anywhere you like.
