Two-factor authentication settings

What is two-factor authentication and how does it work on Hahalolo?

Only when you have access to your Hahalolo account can you enable two-factor authentication. If you can't access your account, learn about how to set a new password.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security feature (optional) for personal accounts on Hahalolo. Accordingly, users will be asked to enter a security code provided by Google Authenticator when trying to access their account from a new mobile device or browser.

If you haven't saved your password on the browser you're using, you'll be asked to do so when you turn on two-factor authentication. Don't Save your password if you're using a public computer that other people can access. If you save it, you won't have to enter the security code when you log back in again.

Two-factor authentication is a security feature that helps protect your Hahalolo account in addition to your password in case your password is stolen.

How do I enable two-factor authentication?

Download and install Google Authenticator on your device to use this feature.

Computer Mobile apps
  1. Click your profile picture thumbnail Untitled-1.png in the top right of the screen of any Hahalolo page and select Privacy & Security settings
  2. Click Security and Login
  3. Go to the Two-factor authentication section, click Use the authenticator app (Off)

You will see a QR code and a setup key. You can use either of these to set up your Hahalolo account via a third-party authenticator (Google Authenticator).

  4. Open Google Authenticator app, click the Add button. After adding the given code, you will receive a 6-digit verification code. You have 2 options:
    • Scan a QR code: Point your camera at the QR code to scan it.
    • Enter a setup key: Enter correctly the string of numbers and letters provided by Hahalolo.
  5. Click Continue
  6. Enter the verification code from your authenticator app in the Enter a verification code pop up.
  7. The screen displays Two-Factor Authentication is enabled. To finish, click Screenshot_3.png to turn off the notification pop up.

Note

The 6-digit verification code generated on the authenticator application automatically refreshes every 30 seconds.

The system will automatically log out your Hahalolo account once you finish enabling two-factor authentication. You will need to re-login and enter the two-factor authentication code.

The Google Authenticator is quite convenient to use as it can save multiple Hahalolo accounts and apps at the same time.
